BLESSED ARE THE ONES WHO MOURN
In a world that tells us to avoid pain, hide our tears, and move on quickly, Jesus offers a surprising promise in Gospel of Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
What does it mean to be blessed in the midst of grief? How can sorrow and hope exist at the same time?
This sermon explores the depth of Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount, revealing that mourning is not a sign of weakness but a pathway to divine comfort. We will look at the different kinds of mourning—grief over loss, repentance over sin, and sorrow for a broken world—and discover how God meets us tenderly in each one.
Through Scripture, reflection, and encouragement, we will uncover how God’s comfort restores, strengthens, and renews us. Even in our darkest valleys, His presence assures us that our tears are seen, our pain is known, and our hearts will not remain broken forever.
This message invites us to bring our sorrow honestly before God—and to experience the blessing found on the other side of mourning.
