TO THE CHURCH OF PERGAMOS
This sermon centers on Christ’s message to the church in Pergamum as recorded in Book of Revelation 2:12–17. Speaking as the One who holds the sharp, double-edged sword, Jesus Christ addresses a congregation living “where Satan’s throne is”—a place of intense pagan influence, political pressure, and spiritual compromise.
“To the Church of Pergamos” explores the tension between faithfulness and cultural compromise. While Christ commends them for holding fast to His name—even in the face of persecution—He also confronts the subtle corruption that had crept into the church through false teaching and moral compromise. The message is both a warning and an invitation: repent, stand firm in truth, and refuse to blend conviction with culture.
This sermon challenges believers today to remain steadfast in environments that oppose biblical truth, reminding us that faithfulness may be costly—but the reward of hidden manna and a new name reflects the intimate approval and eternal promise of Christ to those who overcome.
